At FIAA 2008, INDCAR presented the following new products:
- SEDNA - DAYRON - CYTIOS - STRADA PEUGEOT BOXER - STRADA FIAT DUCATO - STRADA VOLKSWAGEN CRAFTER - STRADA MERCEDES SPRINTER
in addition to its well-known vehicles:
- STRADA IVECO - WING - WING URBANO - MAGO2
With the aim of always being in the forefront of the microbus and minibus segment, INDCAR has made a firm commitment to be present in all the ranges. For this reason we have created the DAYRON vehicle, a 10-metre vehicle with a capacity for 39 passengers + guide + driver and an enormous luggage compartment of up to 7.3 m3.
The company also presented the SEDNA vehicle, a 29-seater microbus with very high specifications and a Mercedes chassis with a 240 HP engine, making it unquestionably the most powerful in its segment. With this model, INDCAR offers a Mercedes-based vehicle with a very attractive price-quality ratio.
The CYTIOS is a new vehicle, something special and different, which at this moment is the response to a concrete request from a specific customer. It is a LOW-ENTRY microbus, built on a MERCEDES SPRINTER chassis. The development of this vehicle is the fruit of the collaboration between INDCAR and a French coachbuilding company.
In the STRADA range, INDCAR has begun to manufacture this bodywork with the most respected chassis makers in the industry: Mercedes, Volkswagen, Fiat and Peugeot. With all of these we create all the possible combinations of vehicles with a larger luggage compartment, a PRM platform, etc.
FIAA 2008 enabled us to show all our customers that INDCAR is in the process of covering all the coachbuilding possibilities of vehicles from 13 to 39 seats. It also helped us to consolidate bodyworks that continue to be very popular on the market, such as WING and MAGO 2 and all their variants, both for PRMs and for URBAN use in the case of WING.
The presence of customers at FIAA this year was less than in previous years – the absence of a number of manufacturers was clearly a factor in this – but most of the customers who visited our stand did so with real intentions of buying, so the final conclusion is positive.
We also announced that INDCAR will shortly build a factory in Romania to support the Arbúcies plant and optimise certain models in order to increase further our competitive capacity.
